What diversity, equity, and inclusion means at Herbein
Herbein is continually focused on building a workplace culture where everyone feels respected, embraced, and supported.
We are proud of the progress we are making – and have made over the past five decades – and know we must do more. Our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion requires that we continue to review our workplace demographics. We empower our team members with a respectful environment for our team, our clients, and our community. Herbein values the diversity reflected in our various backgrounds, identities, experiences, and ideas.
Herbein proudly demonstrates our commitment to improving our diversity, equity, and inclusion practices through the creation of Horizon, our firmwide initiative.

How diversity, equity, and inclusion comes to life at Herbein
Horizon uses team member focus groups to increase DEI awareness and is supported by three core focus groups: HWomen RISE, Mosaic, and NextGen. These focus groups bring together team members who share a common identity, characteristics, and interests. They enhance team member engagement and support our mission, vision, and values.
HWomen RISE / Mosaic / NextGen
The mission of HWomen RISE is to help facilitate education and awareness as well as create and adapt programs and policies that support Herbein women in achieving their professional development and advancement goals and objectives. Mosaic is focused on promoting a workplace that recognizes, supports, and advances the multicultural diversity of our team members. NextGen facilitates education and the creation/adaptation of programs that support team members under 40 in achieving their professional development and advancement goals and objectives. NextGen’s major areas of interest will be networking, community, and team building.
HWomen RISE, Mosaic, and NextGen work collaboratively to create a sense of belonging in order to empower our team members and allow them to bring their best selves to work. These groups serve as a platform for our team members to connect with colleagues. They provide a forum to help them develop both personally and professionally by providing access to networking and professional development opportunities, support for recruitment and retention efforts, mentoring, and community engagement.
HWomen RISE, Mosaic, and NextGen create a more inclusive, cohesive culture and connect team members with their colleagues, clients, and the community – driving a sense of belonging and an inclusive culture. Each group has a leadership team and includes a mix of team members from across our firm.
Mosaic, HWomen RISE, and NextGen aim to foster a diverse, inclusive workplace for team members who share characteristics. Herbein team members are encouraged to lead and participate in these groups.
